The City of Gastonia will host a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of a 90-unit luxury apartment complex. The public is encouraged to attend the groundbreaking ceremony, which will be held on Tuesday, April 5 at 4:30 p.m. at 147 Main Ave. in Gastonia. In attendance will be Mayor Walker Reid III, Kuester Companies CEO Faison Kuester, Kuester Real Estate Services President Shaw Kuester, Lead Developer John Allen, and other top company and city officials.

“This project was the missing link to attract more people to live downtown,” said Mayor Walker Reid III. “We are excited that Kuester Development has chosen Gastonia to create more housing options for our city.”

The City of Gastonia began the project in 2019, but delays due to COVID-19 and supply chain and material issues related to the pandemic slowed down the project. The Kuester Development team is back on track, ready to transform the area into an attractive six-story apartment building that will include a mixture of one- to three-bedroom studio apartments.

Kuester Development has been investing in the development of emerging cities throughout the Carolinas. “We are proud to bring this type of development to Gastonia. The partnership with them has been great, and although it’s been a long journey, we are ready to get started,” said CEO Faison Kuester of Kuester Development.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2023. To follow the Center City Crossing development progress, go to KuesterCRE.com and follow @KuesterCRE on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.
