The City of Gastonia will host an Open House for two affordable housing units in the City’s historic Highland neighborhood. The public is encouraged to attend the event on Tuesday, February 6 at 3:30 p.m. at 307 & 309 Norment Avenue in Gastonia. In attendance will be Mayor Richard Franks, Reginald Jones, Director of the Belmont Community Development Corporation, and other City officials and community leaders.
“This project shows the City’s commitment to affordable housing,” said Mayor Richard Franks. “We are hopeful that this project will also be a launching pad to create more quality affordable housing in our City and help those in need.”
Belmont CDC is a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) that develops affordable homes for qualifying homebuyers. The organization has been selected as the Developer to build, market, and sell two single-family Affordable Homes in the Highland Community located at 307 & 309 Norment Avenue in Gastonia, NC. These CHDO projects are in partnership with the City of Gastonia and its Housing and Community Engagement Department.

The Gastonia Housing and Community Engagement Department is responsible for programs and services that help improve the livability of neighborhoods and public areas by focusing on housing programs, outdoor beautification, recycling, litter abatement, environmental education, and related community services.
