Gastonia Parks and Recreation offers activities for people of all ages and all abilities. Our Blind and Visually Impaired group has a lot of fun. Recently, they enjoyed fishing at Rankin Lake and played in a miniature golf tournament in Salisbury.

About 20 people with visual impairments meet at 10 a.m. on the second Tuesday of every month at the Adult Recreation Center.

In addition to the activities pictured here, the group enjoys a fall picnic at Rankin Lake and a four-day trip each year to the Outer Banks, which includes a fishing tournament.
