The Gastonia Fire Department will hold two simultaneous memorial services to recognize the 17th anniversary of the sacrifices made due to the 9/11 terrorists attacks.
Services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at:
- Gastonia Fire Department Station 1 at 260 N. Myrtle School Rd.
- Gastonia Fire Department Station 4 at 900 Armstrong Park Rd.
Both services will start at 9 a.m., and the public is invited to attend at either station.
“We believe it is our duty to honor the fallen, those who served and those who continue to this day to be affected by the events of Sept.11, 2001,” GFD Chief Phil Welch said.
