City of Gastonia Free Bus Fares End July 30

The City of Gastonia will end free bus fares on Saturday, July 30, 2022.

The City had offered free bus service to riders since March 2020 to continue helping residents during the pandemic. Federal CARES Act funding provided Gastonia Transit with money to cover operational expenses while the City responded to COVID-19.

Bus Fares Resume on August 1 (fees below per person):

  • Regular bus fare – $1.25
  • Elderly and handicapped fare – 60 cents
  • Children 5 years and younger – free
  • Transfers – free
  • ADA van fare – $2.50
