In an effort to meet the needs of residents in the aftermath of Hurricane/Tropical Storm Florence, the City of Gastonia Solid Waste Division has updated its collection schedule as follows:
- Free Household Trash Week from Monday, Sept. 17 – Friday, Sept. 21. There will be no yard waste collected this week.
- Extended Free Household Trash Week for Monday and Tuesday customers on Monday, Sept. 24 and Tuesday, Sept. 25.
- Free Yard Waste Week from Monday, Sept. 24 – Friday, Sept. 28.
- Extended Free Yard Waste Week from Monday, Oct. 1 – Friday, Oct. 5
“We want everyone to have enough time to get excess trash, yard waste and storm debris out to the curb before their scheduled pickup times,” said DeeDee Gillis, Solid Waste Division manager.
