Catawba Indian Festival
Saturday, Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Explore the culture and history of the Catawba Indians, one of the Carolina’s earliest indigenous peoples. Listen to traditional stories, feel the beat of a drum circle, step inside a Bark House, and try your hand at primitive skills. Join us and members of the Catawba Nation for singing, dancing, hands-on activities, crafts and more!
Dances: 11 a.m. & 12 p.m.
Storytelling: 11:30 a.m. & 12 p.m.
Ongoing demonstrations: pottery making, basket weaving, beadwork, flintknapping, archeology, and more!
Ticket Information:
– Tickets can be purchased at the door on the day of the event
– $3 in addition to general museum admission
