City of Gastonia 9/11 Memorial Services

The Gastonia Fire Department will hold two simultaneous memorial services to recognize the 18th anniversary of the sacrifices made due to the 9/11 terrorists attacks.

“We believe it is our duty to honor the heroes who died and those who continue to this day to be affected by the events of Sept. 11, 2001,” GFD Chief Phil Welch said.

Services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 11 at:

GFD Station 1 located at 260 N. Myrtle School Road, and

GFD Station 4 located at 900 Armstrong Park Road.

Both services will start promptly at 9:00 a.m. The public is invited to attend at either station.
