Join Clark Barlowe, chef and owner, of Heirloom Restaurant uses local ingredients from farmers, forests and their own bee hives to produce delicious and nutritious dishes with minimal impact on the environment. Enjoy free samples of mushroom dishes and purchase some of their preserved foraged products. Also, explore our exhibits kid-free, test your mind with trivia, enjoy refreshments, a beer, and experience a show in the James H Lynn Science Theater!

A Rendezvous of Idlers: 18th Century Farm Event 
1-5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12th 
                         

Charles Woodmason, a clergyman traveling through 18th Century Carolina observed “these Assemblies at Private Houses for Singing… is reprehensible… these Singing Matches lie under the Imputation of being only Rendezvous of Idlers.”  Join the Backcountry folk on the 18th Century Farm for an idle afternoon of music, dance, and intrigue from August 1775.
